Music is applied automatically to TikTok slideshow/carousel/image posts. Other platforms within AdaptlyPost do not currently support music for slideshow/carousel posts.

How TikTok manages music for slideshow posts

When you create slideshow posts on TikTok, the platform adds music automatically. This occurs because TikTok's API does not currently allow manual music selection for slideshow posts.

Which music is applied

In our backend, `auto_music` is set to true to assign trending sounds to your slideshow posts. The platform selects a random trending sound and applies it to all your slideshow posts automatically.

TikTok doesn't provide the functionality to manually choose music for slideshow posts through their developer interface. This means all slideshow posts will use TikTok's automatic music selection. This feature will be added to AdaptlyPost when TikTok's API allows it.

Why manual music selection is not available

This limitation is at the API level -- TikTok does not offer the ability to manually select music for slideshow posts through their developer interface. As a result, all slideshow posts will rely on TikTok's automatic music selection.

Handling the random music assignment

Because TikTok assigns random music to your slideshow posts, you have two approaches to manage this:

1. Publish through AdaptlyPost, then update the audio weekly in the TikTok app. You can modify the audio after your video has been posted.

2. Leave the random audio in place and track performance. Many of the automatically chosen songs are trending audios that may perform well.

Support on other platforms

Music for slideshow/carousel posts is not yet available on platforms other than TikTok.
