Setting Custom Thumbnails for Videos
AdaptlyPost lets you choose a custom thumbnail for your video posts by selecting a specific frame from the video.
How to set a custom thumbnail
- Upload your video in the post creator
- Hover over the uploaded video
- Click the thumbnail selector option
- Browse through frames from your video and pick the one you want
- The selected frame will be used as the thumbnail
Platform support
- Instagram — custom thumbnail selection supported
- TikTok — custom thumbnail selection supported
- Pinterest — custom thumbnail selection supported
- YouTube / YouTube Shorts — custom thumbnail selection not available (YouTube's API does not allow cover selection for Shorts)
Limitations
- Thumbnails must be a frame from the video itself — uploading a separate image as a thumbnail is not supported
- YouTube Shorts do not support thumbnail selection through the API
