How to connect your Instagram accounts to AdaptlyPost

This guide walks you through connecting your Instagram accounts to AdaptlyPost.

Before you start

To connect Instagram, you need:

• An Instagram Business or Creator account (personal accounts are not supported by Instagram's API)
• A Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account (required by Meta for API access)

If your Instagram account is still set to Personal, switch it to Business or Creator in the Instagram app under Settings > Account > Switch to professional account.

Connecting via Instagram Login

This is the simplest method and the one we recommend:

1. Go to the Connectors page
2. Click Connect Instagram
3. You will be redirected to Instagram's login page
4. Sign in with your Instagram credentials and authorize AdaptlyPost
5. Your account will appear in your connected accounts list

Connecting via Facebook Login

If Instagram Login does not work for your account, you can connect through Facebook instead:

1. Go to the Connectors page
2. Click Connect Facebook
3. Sign in with the Facebook account that manages your Instagram Business account
4. When prompted, make sure to select the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram
5. Grant all requested permissions — AdaptlyPost needs these to publish on your behalf
6. Your Instagram account will appear alongside your Facebook Page

Troubleshooting

If your Instagram account does not appear after connecting:

• Verify your Instagram is set to Business or Creator (not Personal)
• Make sure your Instagram is linked to a Facebook Page
• Try disconnecting and reconnecting from the Connectors page
• Check that you granted all permissions during the authorization step
