How to Set Up a Manus Cue Connector for Social Media Posting

Setting up a Manus Cue connector for social media posting takes one server URL, one AdaptlyPost API token and a decision about who presses publish. Cue is the standalone app for personal agents that Manus launched on 28 September 2026, and Manus says it is "built on the same infrastructure as Manus." That shared base is the way in, because Manus documents custom MCP servers and, as of 29 September 2026, Cue has no connector documentation of its own.

The short version: add https://mcp.adaptlypost.com/mcp as a custom MCP server in Manus with an adaptly_ Bearer token issued under the Contributor role, ask your Cue agent to list your connected accounts, and let it save drafts. A person publishes them in AdaptlyPost.

What is Cue, and what does Manus mean by a connector?

Cue is a Manus app that gives each personal agent its own email, phone number, wallet and computer, and a connector is how that agent reaches a service such as AdaptlyPost. Manus describes connectors as an integration layer for third-party data and APIs, "including MCP servers", and says you can create "your own custom API connector or MCP connector." AdaptlyPost runs a hosted MCP server, so the MCP connector is the one to build.

Cue is invite-only for now. Manus says Cue "is in early access and free to use with an invite code", and the code MEETCUE works for a limited number of early users. Manus lists web, desktop and mobile, with iOS waiting on App Store review as of 29 September 2026.

Where do I add the AdaptlyPost MCP server?

The AdaptlyPost MCP server goes into Manus under Settings, then Integrations, then Custom MCP Servers, then Add Server, which is the path Manus documents for its own agent. The form takes a server name, the HTTPS server URL and authentication, listed as "API key, Bearer token, or other credentials required." Manus then checks that it can reach the server and retrieves the tool list.

As of 29 September 2026, Manus has not documented whether a Manus connector appears inside Cue automatically. So test it. Ask your Cue agent whether it sees the AdaptlyPost connector, and if it does not, ask it in chat to add a custom MCP connector with the same URL. That chat route is a method, not a documented Cue menu.

Put the token in the Manus form, not in a chat message. Manus redacts API keys in shared sessions, but it has published nothing about how Cue stores credentials, and a token typed into chat is conversation content from then on. The AdaptlyPost server also accepts OAuth sign-in, yet the Manus form documents keys and tokens, so the Bearer header is the route both sides describe.

Which role does the Cue token need?

The Cue token needs the Contributor role, which AdaptlyPost's token dialog marks "Recommended for AI agents" and which creates and edits its own drafts but cannot schedule or publish. Every AdaptlyPost key carries a workspace role and never exceeds the member who created it. A call outside the role returns 403 with the code permission_denied, and retrying with the same key changes nothing.

That table is the approval gate Cue does not document. Runtimewire wrote on 28 September 2026 that the launch announcement "does not explain in detail how users approve individual transactions." Manus's line for group chats is "You set the direction and make the final call", with no mechanism described. A Contributor key turns that line into a rule the API enforces.

What is the first call Cue makes?

The first call Cue makes reads and never writes: it lists the workspaces and connected accounts, then stops. A correct list proves the token, server and connector work together. The AdaptlyPost MCP server exposes list_workspaces and list_accounts for this, and an account marked unauthorized needs reconnecting in AdaptlyPost before anything posts to it.

Why does Cue save drafts instead of publishing?

Cue saves drafts because an AdaptlyPost draft stays editable and unpublished until a person acts on it, and Manus has not documented a per-action approval step in Cue. The create_post tool takes saveAsDraft: true, and publish_draft later publishes that draft now or at a set time. You check the draft in AdaptlyPost, then publish.

Manus's own social example lands in the same place. The Manus 2.0 help article describes an Automation that watches a product account on X and drafts a summary of each update, then adds: "You still decide what goes out."

What does an agent with its own identity mean for public posting?

A Cue agent with its own email, phone number and wallet acts in the world as itself, which suits errands and is a real risk for anything published under your brand. Manus says each agent can "send messages, pay within the budget you set, and see a task through on its own machine." Runtimewire notes the announcement does not explain how users "restrict what agents can do with their email or phone identity, or review actions after they occur."

Keep the two identities apart. Your social accounts stay connected in AdaptlyPost under your login, and the agent reaches them only through the scoped key. Do not give the agent your social passwords, and do not let it sign in to a network with its own email to be helpful. The key limits what the agent does to your brand accounts. Nothing on the AdaptlyPost side limits what it does as itself.

How do a drafting agent and a scheduling agent split the work?

A drafting agent and a scheduling agent split the work in a Cue group chat, where Manus says agents with a shared goal "hand work to each other." The drafting agent writes captions and saves each one as a draft. The scheduling agent reads the calendar with list_posts and proposes a slot for each draft. You publish the drafts you approve.

Manus says integration connections are personal to your account and has not documented per-agent connectors in Cue, so assume both agents share one key. The split between them is a prompt, not a permission. The Contributor role is the only hard line in the setup, which is why both agents sit behind it.

Which networks can Cue post to through AdaptlyPost?

Cue reaches ten networks through AdaptlyPost: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon. Scheduling posts over MCP works the same from Cue as from Claude or Cursor.

What has Manus not documented about Cue yet?

Manus has not documented Cue's connector screen, credential storage, approval model or post-early-access price as of 29 September 2026. None of the gaps blocks a drafts-only setup.

How do I cut Cue off?

Revoking the adaptly_ token at adaptlypost.com/api-tokens cuts Cue off at once, because AdaptlyPost says revoking a token "immediately disconnects any agent using it." Removing the connector in Manus clears "all login information and saved credentials", and an expiry date on the token is a second switch that fires without you.
